OUR MINISTRIES

Located in the heart of Summerville, in the hills of northwest Georgia, our church seeks to "Go...teach, make disciples" (Matt. 28:19-20) far beyond the confines of our church walls or boundaries of mountainous rural community.  To do so, we offer a variety of ministries in which members and non-members alike may participate.

Audio/Visual Ministry

Each week, our church broadcasts LIVE our regularly scheduled services via our Facebook page, South Summerville Baptist Church. In addition, it produces "Hope for Tomorrow," a one-hour broadcast of the previous week's Sunday morning service for later viewing and sharing.

"Seasoned Citizens" Ministry

Comprising a majority of our membership, our "Seasoned Citizens" prove that fun, fellowship and 'followship' of Christ know no boundaries or age limits.  Our Seniors are always 'on the go, on the move,' and always 'up to something.'

Sunday School

Sunday School provides members and guests with the opportunity to truly 'connect' with others relationally in a small group setting.  Many of our teachers create their own curriculum, taking into consideration the desires of the class, and work tirelessly to create atmospheres which are engaging and educational for the young and old alike.

Music

Comprised of volunteers of all ages , our Music Minstry is made up of people who desire to "make a joyful noise to the Lord."  From our Instrumental Ensemble who play during our morning Worship Services to our Santuary Choir who minister in song, praise and worship in both our church as well as others in our community, we're sure we can find a place for you in our Music Ministry.

Youth

We have a budding Youth Ministry which is very service oriented and active in our church activities.  Monthly fellowships and small group times such as Sunday School or Youth Bible Study afford times to get together with each other, invite guests and grow closer to the Lord and one another in a relational atmosphere.

Community Service

Our church serves as host for the "There's Hope For The Hungry" ministry.  Regularly occurring on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10:00am to 1:00pm, "There's Hope For The Hungry" partners with South Summerville to provide and distribute food for those in need in our immediate community and beyond.
